Why it is called Raccoon

“Call the Raccoon; he’ll get it right.”

Raccoon is founder Rick Coon’s own nickname, not a mascot. He came up as a mason, laying brick and block, then ceramic tile, then stone, and sold his 1948 Harley-Davidson to buy his first saw. The first tops were cut in the backyard of the family’s home in Warner Robins before the shop moved to Byron, beside I-75, so customers from Warner Robins and Macon could both reach it.

  1. Templated by the shop

The measuring visit is ours, not a subcontractor’s.

  2. Cut by the shop

Your slab is fabricated in the Byron building it was chosen beside.

  3. Set by the shop

The people who install it are the people you already met.

One kitchen, many angles

Shawn Carpenter’s kitchen needed the stone pieced. The veins still line up.

“The man who actually cut the stone into the pieces for my kitchen, took great pride in matching up the natural patterns where piecing was required- due to the multi-angular layout of my kitchen work space/cabinets. The installer made the joints appear almost seamless!”

“Other companies in the area have little 1 foot square blocks to look at, even Lowes and Home Depot. Others will send you up to Atlanta where they buy their slabs.”

“We're in the process of replacing our kitchen counter tops. Dealing with Connie was a pleasure.”

Connie in the showroom is the person most customers meet first when they are choosing a material and pattern.

Before your yard visit

Questions people ask while they walk the slabs.

Still unsure? Call the shop on (478) 956-2222, Monday to Friday, 8 to 5.

Yes. We keep full slabs standing in the yard at our Byron shop, so you walk the rows and choose the exact piece, not a one-foot sample square. We make sure you are happy with that slab before anyone cuts it.

Our own people, start to finish. Templating, fabrication and installation are all done in-house, so the crew that measures your kitchen is the same shop that cuts and sets the stone. No subcontracted strangers come to the house.

Granite, quartz, quartzite and marble for kitchen and bath tops, plus tile supply and installation for backsplashes and walls. Connie in the showroom can walk you through which material and pattern suits the way you use your kitchen.

Byron, Warner Robins and Macon are home ground, and we work across the surrounding central Georgia communities, roughly a 60-mile radius of the shop. Byron sits on I-75 between Warner Robins and Macon, which is why the shop is here.
